About ME

I’m Karina Busquets, a Brazilian artist, illustrator, and author based in Cornwall, UK. My work is inspired by my experiences as an immigrant and my Brazilian heritage, exploring themes of identity, belonging, and the stories we carry, make, and exchange to create interconnections.

Through drawing, fibres, textiles, and writing, I create pieces that investigate borders, multiple belonging, and the narratives embedded in objects. My practice is deeply rooted in personal and collective memories, including those of growing up surrounded by women and their baskets of yarn projects. Recently, I have been expanding my work to include writing and text more prominently while experimenting with diverse materials.
